Search for a string expression and replace it

Hi,
I am using Stata 13 on Windows 7. I have some string texts in the variable labels that are enclosed in two curly brackets {} e.g {stephen}. I would like to go through all the variable labels, search for such instances and then replace them. Any ideas will be much appreciated.
